What is the black and gold finish made of?
It is a nano coating bonded onto 304 stainless steel. The color is in the coating, not in the steel.
The black is a gunmetal black, not a jet black. In some light you will see a grey tone coming through from the steel underneath. That is normal.
The coating is thin on purpose. A thick, flat black shows every water spot and every fingerprint. A thinner coating keeps some of the steel's shine, so marks do not stand out.
To look after it, wipe the sink dry after you use it. Clean it with soap and water, or with white vinegar mixed half and half with warm water. Never use bleach, drain cleaner, steel wool or a scouring pad.
